Diabetes care that fits your life
Diabetes is a long-term condition, and good control depends on more than a prescription. Dr. Vishal Gupta, a Diabetologist with a Fellowship in Diabetes and more than 20 years of clinical experience, looks at your reports, your diet, your work hours and your other health conditions before he plans treatment.
He sees patients with type 2 diabetes, prediabetes, diabetes in older adults, and people whose sugar stays high despite taking medicines.
When to see a diabetologist
- Your fasting or post-meal sugar, or HbA1c, came back high in a recent test
- You have frequent thirst, frequent urination, tiredness or unexplained weight loss
- You already take diabetes medicines but your sugar is still not under control
- You have a family history of diabetes and want to be checked
- You notice tingling or numbness in the feet, slow-healing wounds or blurred vision

Frequently asked questions
Can diabetes be controlled without insulin?
Many people with type 2 diabetes manage well with tablets, diet and activity. Whether insulin is needed depends on your sugar levels and health, and Dr. Gupta will explain the options at your visit.
How often should I get my HbA1c checked?
Usually every three months while treatment is being adjusted, and less often once sugar is stable. Your doctor will advise what suits you.
Do I need to come fasting?
If you plan to get blood tests done on the same day, a fasting sample is often needed. Call the clinic before your visit to confirm.
